Barefoot Coral Calcium

Coral calcium supplements have become the rage in the US and in some parts of the world.

They are believed to cure over 200 diseases, to help the body's immune systems and as one of the advertisements claimed " Bob Barefoot's Coral Calcium "Supreme" is critical to good health; it's like water and air".

These are all very tall claims, made over and over again in infomercials and in the print media. Dr. Robert Barefoot, who claims to be the founder of Coral calcium supplements, has stated that his research has proved that people living in Okinawa in Japan live the longest and healthiest lives. This, according to Dr. Barefoot, is due to the fact that their water is rich in coral reef substances. Hence the Barefoot Coral calcium, which ostensibly is made from limestone derived from these reefs.

The benefits of Barefoot Coral calcium are, if you believe them, immense. Earlier they had claimed that these tablets, if taken thrice a day, could cure diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's, kidney diseases and lupus among others. Now, after they lost a case against the Food and Drug Administration Dr. Barefoot has been restrained from making any such claims. But they still state that Coral calcium can build the body's immune systems and is necessary for proper heart and liver functions.

Barefoot Coral Calcium costs $20.00 for 19 capsules, much above the normal price for ordinary calcium tablets which cost about $0.5 per tablet. They also insist that in order to " reap the benefits " you need to take at least 3 tablets a day. The cost is therefore quite high.

Despite all these warning signs Barefoot Coral Calcium searches on the Google site reveals over 220,000 entries. Unfortunately a lot of them are about people selling these tablets. Obviously there are a lot of people still selling them and buying them.

Dr. Barefoot - (it is not even clear whether he is a real doctor) claims that the Okinawa limestone Coral calcium is the best of the lot, because Okinawa residents never get cancer. The Okinawa Centarian Study has proved that claim wrong.

Barefoot Coral Calcium originally claimed that it helps cure 200 diseases. Dr. Barefoot has been forbidden by the courts from making any such statements because he had no facts to support them.

Barefoot Coral Calcium is supposed to help balance the body's acidity, but if you have such high levels of acidity as they seem to think you have, you are in grave risk of losing your life anyway.

Take ordinary generic calcium tablets and avoid these supplements. As we have repeated again and again none of their claims can be substantiated. The cost is enormous and the results are not worthy of the expenditure.
